Leon "Buddy" Hubbard is the younger of two sons born to his parents, Ronald Calvin Hubbard and Mable Bishop Hubbard. He is born in Minnesota and spends time as a youth in South Dakota and finally Nevada. He is only about age 5 when his mother dies. He is brought up by his maternal grandparents. He marries Anita Louise Schwartzkopf and they have three children together. Buddy Hubbard lives to age 69, dying in 1993.

FALLON--Leon Ronald Hubbard, 69, died April 4, 1993, the Life Care Center, Reno.
A native of Ackley, Minn., he was born Oct. 8, 1923, and had been a Fallon resident since 1964, coming from Ely.
Hubbard was a retired soil conservationist for the Department of Agriculture and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are daughters, Dianne Cooper of Fallon and Tina Miller of Reno; son David Hubbard of Winnemucca; brother Will of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Donna Collins of Gilla Bend, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Smith Family Funeral Home, with burial at the Fallon Cemetery.
