Filippo Isidoro "Isidoro" Calamari was born to Antonio Calamari (Boschi) and Maria Bergamini in Cattaragna, Piacenza, ER, Italy. He and his siblings; Giuliano Giustino (Julius)and Maria arrived in New York on September 26, 1883 aboard the Labrador. Several other siblings also immigrated over the years. They include; Catarina (born in 1848, married to Pietro Briggi), Giacomo (born in 1849, he had 8 children), Gaspare (born in 1851, married to Sabina Calamari) and Angelo Giuseppe (born in 1854).

At the time of his death from Kidney Disease at the age of 30 the family lived at 238 E 75th Street in Manhattan. He left behind his wife, Luigia Casella, his son, Luigi, and his unborn daughter, Maria Maddalena.

He was buried on November 14, 1889 at Calvary in a grave purchased by his brother, Angelo Calamari, on May 25, 1887. There are 9 burials in this grave. They are as follows:
