Freeman Edd Byrge, 64, Lake City, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served a tour of duty in Germany.

He enjoyed collecting the State Quarters and Presidential Dollars.

He loved his church, Indian Bluff Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for nearly 35 years.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Pearly and Nancy Byrge.

He is survived by Wife of 39 years, Rita Byrge of Lake City; sons, Joshua Byrge and wife Jennifer of Halls, Trent Byrge and wife Jessica of Briceville; foster daughter, Maria Wilson of Clinton; grandchildren, Dalton and Gabe Byrge, Clayton and Jacob Wilson; brothers, the Rev. Tom Byrge and wife Minnie of Lake City, Everette Byrge and wife Gail of Briceville; sister, Hannah Faye Douglas of Briceville; sister-in-law, Renee Kennedy and husband Kevin of Caryville; nieces and nephews, Makayla, Trevor, Penny, Ann, Kendra, Paula, Jason, Millie and Thomas; many great nieces, nephews, and other relatives who loved Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Greg Goodman, the Rev. Tom Inklebarger, the Rev. Tom Byrge, and the Rev. Jason Goans officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Indian Bluff Baptist Church for graveside services with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Indian Bluff Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Freeman Bryge, PO Box 387, Briceville, Tenn., 37710.

Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements.
