Charles E. Hudson, 81, Atlanta, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday in Tipton Hospital after a five year illness which had been serious for the last six days. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Leatherman-Morris Funeral Home with Rev. Willis E. Drake officiating and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call any time at the funeral home. The deceased was born Feb. 21, 1882 in Sawyer, Michigan, son of Charles M. and Margaret (Landis) Hudson. He was married in Tipton Nov. 23, 1912 to Lulie Kline who preceded him in death on Dec. 5 1955. He was a member of the Atlanta Wesleyan Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the Remy plant in Anderson. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Arawana Hudson, Atlanta; Mrs. Pearl Shinkle, Elwood; four sons, Chester of Chicago, Dale of Indianapolis, James of Atlanta and Ted of Elwood; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Martin of Three Oaks, Michigan; Mrs. Blanche Sutherland of Dowagiac, Michigan and Mrs. Goldie Cranson of Dowagiac, Michigan, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
