Served as a private in Co. C, 29th NC Infantry Regiment. Enlisted in March 1863. Captured near Atlanta, GA, July 21, 1864. Sent to Nashville, TN. Confined at Louisville, KY, August 3, 1864. Transferred to Camp Chase Ohio, August 4, 1864. Died at Camp Chase on February 6, 1865 of "pneumonia."
