Jessie Barbara Reynolds, 98, of West Point Care Center, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, at the care center.
Born Aug. 12, 1905, in Tekamah, Neb., she was the daughter of Thomas Alexander and Katie Jennie Sklenar Cox. On April 7, 1945, she married Harry Hyatt Reynolds in Burlington. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Reynolds was a homemaker.
She was born and raised in Tekamah and spent most of her life in Leon before moving to the Fort Madison area in 1989. She was of the Christian faith. She loved sewing clothes and making quilts.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Carter of Fort Madison; one step grandson, Jim Franklin of Burlington; three step granddaughters, Judy Franklin, Jane White and Linda Paul, all of Winchester, Ill.; two grandchildren; two great–grandsons; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat–grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and several brothers and sisters.
The body of Mrs. Reynolds has been cremated. Family services and burial will be at a later time in Leon.
Barr Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
