Jeffrey Anderson Sr., 88, of Greenville, Fla., died in Lake City, Fla., on Oct. 17, 2009. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. EDT at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow at the church cemetery. Viewing-visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT at TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME (850-997-5553) in Monticello, and from 5 to 7 p.m. EDT at the church. The oldest serving deacon at New Zion, Deacon Anderson was a retired farmer and pulpwooder. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Easter Moore Anderson of Greenville; sons, Albert (Dorothy) Anderson of Lamont, Fla., Pasco (Lilla) Anderson and Jeffrey (Shirley) Anderson Jr., both of Monticello, and Roscoe (Sherry) Anderson of Perry, Fla.; daughters, LaQuetta Anderson, Celestine Anderson and Burnita Farmer, all of Greenville, and Gail Anderson of Monticello; two sisters, Rosary Mathis of Greenville and Ivory Perry of Orlando, Fla.; along with 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deacon Anderson was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Dempsey Mathis Anderson; son, James Anderson; and a sister, Annie Mae Mathis.
