Middle Haddam, June 28. Funeral services for Carl M. Hallberg, who died Saturday [24 Jun 1922] after a short illness were held at his home at Middle Haddam Monday afternoon [26 Jun 1922] at 2 o'clock. Rev. Alvin Lindgren officiated. William Nelson of Portland sang "Some Sweet Day," "Abide With Me," and a Swedish Hymn, accompanied by Guy W. Churchill of Middle Haddam. The pallbearers were his six sons. Mr. Hallberg was born in Sweden in 1847. He came to this country in 1870 and settled in Middle Haddam at that time. He has been a resident of this town for over fifty years. He is survived by his wife, eight children, Gerda, Mildred, Sidney, Edwin, Elmer, Arthur, Harry, Paul and four sisters, one brother and six grandchildren. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery and was largely attended. Many beautiful flower tributes were sent in.
