Francis Marion Blaker, aged 85, well known Jefferson Township farmer and stockman, died at 5:15 p. m., yesterday, June 16, 1943, at his home, Carmichaels, R. D. 1. Mr. Blaker had been ill for more than two years, suffering a general decline in health due to his advanced years, and had been bedfast for more than a year. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born May 21, 1858 at Fordyce, and was a son of Heaton and Else Smith Blaker. He married Margaret Ellen Cree, who died July 14, 1929, and by this union six children survive, namely: Florence Blaker, of Carmichaels, R. D. 1, Gertrude Blaker, at home; Ewing and Mary Blaker, both of Carmichaels, R. D. 1; Earl Blaker, of Wellsville, N. Y., and Roy Blaker, of Carmichaels, R. D. 1. There are ten grand children and one great-grandchild. He also leaves four brothers, Frank, R. D. and Harry Blaker, all of Carmichaels, R. D. 1, and Vint Blaker, of Waynesburg, R. D. 2. Mr. Blaker followed farming and stock raising all his life, and was a member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church.
