Mr. Barkley was a prominent citizen of Marengo County. He was a very active member of the Shiloh Church.
The Rev. H.C. Stephens conducted the funeral Wednesday afternoon from the Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment was made in the Shiloh cemetery.
Survivng him are his widow, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Barkley, Shiloh; four sons, J.T., E.W., and C.D. Barkley of Linden, and Moulton Barkley, of Tuscaloosa; four daughters, Mrs. Eunice Glass, Mrs. Nora Wilkerson, and Mrs. Josie Wingate of Linden and Mrs. Millard Summerlin of Octagon, and a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
