Mabel Louise Chapin was the only daughter of Alvin Willett and Grace Raymond Lewis. She was born on August 2, 1889 in Washington DC. She attended Swarthmore College in 1910 but did not graduate.
On June 4, 1914 she married Walter Burritt Brock, the son of Fenelon B. and Lilian Burritt. She and Walter had 6 children - Marian, Edith, Alvin, Richard, Lawrence and Dorothy. Mabel and Walter divorced in 1939 She never remarried.
She died on 20 May 1979 and is buried next to her son, Alvin, who was killed during World War II.
