John S. Patterson was the son of William Patterson and Catharine Snider. He was married three times and had more than 22 children in all.

John and his third wife Jemima Teeple were pioneer settlers in North Mildred, Allen County, Kansas in 1878. They, along with several of their children, are burried in Fairview cemetery.

2. John married Sarah Ann Keesy 14 September 1843.

(9) John H. born 19 April 1847
(10) Phillip 1849-1923 m Lucy Keller.

* Sarah Ann Keesy Patterson died 15 May 1858 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio 5 days after giving birth to Sarah A.

3. John then married Jemima "Mima" Teeple 5 January 1862 and had the following seven children:

(17) Jacob Eugene (Charles) 1864-1941 m Anna C. Lowe
(18) David Ernest 1866-1943
(19) Edwin Pitney 1868-1872.
(20) Edith Irene 1870-1949 m Robert McClew
(21) Mack Lorenzo 1872- m Maymai E. Branson
(22) Ella Pearl "Birdie" 1875-1963.

In 1878 John and his wife Jemima Teeple left Ohio for the "west" and came in a covered wagon to North Mildred, Allen County, Kansas where they remained for life. Jamima "Mima" died 12 March 1891.
