Charles A. Timmons
1932-2002
Mr. Charles A .‘Charlie' Timmons, 70, St. Joseph, Mo., died Monday, Dec 16, 2002, at a St. Joseph hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Timmons was a sales representative for Sheridan Clayton for 30 years. He retired in 1994.
He was born Jan. 16, 1932, in St. Joseph, where he had been a lifelong resident. Mr. Timmons served the United States Army. On May 8, 1954, he married Bessie F. Davis. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Obed Lawrence and Eulah (Sears) Timmons; brother Larry Timmons; and a granddaughter, Mandie Timmons.
Charlie was very active at the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Citizens center. He was involved with Pony express Boys Basketball in St. Joseph and an avid golfer.
Survivors: four sons, Charles D. Timmons, St. Joseph; Ricky A. Timmons, Clarksdale; and Michael D. and Steven E. Timmons both of St. Joseph; a daughter Donna I. McDowell, St. Joseph; 15 grandchildren; six-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:30 Thursday, Meirerhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Timmons will be cremated following the service. Inurment: at a later date, Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. The family suggests memorial gifts to Hands of Hope Hospice.
