Anna May Blake Lesage was the eldest of eight children born to Isaac Blake (ca. 1836-1902) and his wife Mary Ann Kilgore (1836-1896). On October 11, 1876 she married Francis Julius Lesage (1836-1897) of Lesage's Landing (later Lesage), Cabell Co., (West) Virginia. She was his second wife. The couple lived on part of the Lesage family farm where Anna gave birth to two children: Sidney Edgar (b. 1877) and Ethel Anna (b. 1878). Anna Lesage died on July 2, 1879. Joseph C. LeSage, Frank's nephew, would later claim that her death was the result of an accidental drug overdose.
