OGDEN, Charles J.

Residence 4011 Gingerwood, Thursday, November 6, 1969, at 2 a.m. Survived by his wife, Jeannette Stuedle Odgen; a son, Charles J. Odgen, Jr.; two daughters, Cheryl J. and Cathy J. Ogden; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William D. Odgen, Sr.; three sisters, Mrs. James A. Wermeister, Jeffersontown, KY, Sr. Mary Rosarita, RSM and Mrs. Mary Carnel Roueter; three brothers, John A., Joseph A. and William D. Odgen, Jr.

Funeral Saturday, 10 a.m., St. Martha's Church. Burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Ogden is at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road after 7 p.m. Thursday. Rosary by the Holy Name Society, 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral services for Charles J. Ogden, II, of 4011 Gingerwood Drive, Louisville, who was killed in a traffic mishap on the Watterson Expressway near Taylor Boulevard Thursday, November 6, were held the following Saturday in St. Martha Church. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Ogden, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, was a passenger in an auto that crashed into a utility pole after swerving to avoid hitting another car. He was returning home with two Louisville policemen after attending a meeting of the Louisville Police Officers Association at the State Fairgrounds. The policemen were injured but not seriously.

Ogden, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, had donated 80 pints of blood to the Louisville Red Cross Chapter in addition to other donations while he was in the Navy. An emblem that he received for his Louisville donations was buried with him.

He was a junior partner of the Bargain Supply Co. in Louisville. Surviving are his wife, the former Jeanette Stuedle; a son, Charles J., III; two daughters, Cathy and Cheryl; his parents, Mr. and William D. Ogden, Sr., of PeeWee Valley; three brothers, John A., Joseph A.. and William D. Ogden, Jr., and three sisters, Mrs. James A. Wermeister, Jeffersontown, Sister Mary Rosarita of the Sisters of Mercy, and Mrs. Mary Carmel Reutter. Mr. Ogden was a nephew of Mrs. Ella Crouch, Mr. and Mrs. David Spurling, and William T. Spurling, all of Campbellsville, and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Spurling.
