Dr. George F. Koehler, 54, prominent Portland physician, member of the faculty of the University of Oregon medical school, and the author of various articles of an authoritative character on diseases of the stomach and intestines, died at his residence, 75 North Twenty Third Street at 8 O'Clock last night following and attack of apoplexy [Cerebral Hemorrage] Wednesday. Dr. Koehler had been a practicing physician in the city since 1890. He was a native Portlander having been the son of the late Dr. William Koehler. He was educated at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, New York, and finished at Munich, Germany. He was a major in the Oregon National Guard, of the citizens vigilance committee and of the Nu Sigma medical fraternity. He is survived by his widow, Lottie, and a 12 year old daughter, Katherine, his mother, Mrs. Jane K. Koehler, a brother, Wm. F. Koehler and two sisters, Mrs. John D. Mann and Mrs. Edward H. Cahalin, all of Portland.
