Ruth "Budgie" Mable Cook Rodgers, 98, of McCool, died Feb. 15, 2010 at Hospice in His Hands in Madden.

Visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1-2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was born Dec. 28, 1911. She married Edgar Rodgers at the age of 16. She was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church. She loved quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and flowers. Most of all, she loved her family, friends, and her pets.

She is survived by three grandsons, Osman Grice Jr. and wife Debbie, Randy Rodgers and wife, Lucy, and John Grice; two granddaughters Janie Grice and Twanna Ivey and husband, Glen; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Christine Threet Rodgers Johnson and a son-in-law, Osman Grice Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Cook; her husband, Edgar Rodgers; her son, Warren Rodgers; her daughter, Marie Rodgers Grice; and her infant daughter, Martha Ann Rodgers.

A special thank you is extended to her favorite cousin, Billy Cook, for all his love and support through the years. The family also wishes to thank Pat Oliver, Nancy Wade, and Hospice in His Hands for all their care giving and compassion.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to CARA (Community Animal Rescue and Adoption) or your favorite charity.
