Ada was born in Frazer, Kentucky (Wayne County), on January 29th, 1914, daughter of the late Alexander Canada and Pauline Canada. She was a graduate of Eastern State Teacher's College. She retired after 44 years as an elementary school teacher. During her retirement she was known for her fund raising efforts for the American Cancer Society – Relay for Life.
Ada was survived by one son, Bill Bordes of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Canada and Pauline Canada; her loving husband, Shirley (S.C.) Bordes, who departed this life on March 31st, 2008; two brothers, Fred (and Wanda) Canada and Delbert (and Roxie) Canada; and five sisters, Clara (and Montie) Dunagan, Flora (and Clyde) Mercer, Elizabeth (and Carl) Grear, Lucy (and Leonard) Baird, and Lena Canada.
Visitations were held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th, 2010 at the Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, 13th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory.
Interment followed in the Somerset City Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
