Laurie Allison Sissel, 50, of Gibson Lane, Richmond, passed away Monday evening, December 8, 2008, in her home. She was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, on June 8, 1958, and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University.
Laurie was an employee of Eastern Kentucky University for 27 years, where she worked in the Registrar's office as a degree audit specialist. She was an avid reader and was a member of the Short Creek Baptist Church in Falmouth, Ky.
She was preceded in death by: her father, James Arthur Sissel. She is survived by: her mother, Dollie Lorraine Reynolds Sissel; and one daughter, Rachel Sissel. Other survivors include: her siblings, Nora Sissel and Nancy Short, both of Falmouth, Diana Spicer of Winchester, Ed Sissel of Falmouth, Lee Ann Sissel of Florence, Helen Suzanne Holder of Forth Worth, Texas, and Jamie Sissel of Florence; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home with Rick McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home. To express condolences, visit http://www.orpfh.com.
