GENEVA FRANCES BIRD, 74, of Howard Street Hurricane, died Sunday in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church at Turkey Creek near Hurricane. Surviving are five sons, Orvie, Evi and Earnest, all of Hurricane, Alvin of Charleston and Bernie of South Charleston; five daughters, Mrs. Mack Searls, Mrs. Raymond Edwards and Sylvia Thornton, all of Hurricane, Mrs. Elba Harris of St. Albans and Mrs. Roy Edwards of Colluden; four brothers, George Plumley of Hamlin, Ambrose Plumley of Milton, Sherman Plumley of Columbus, OH and Walter Plumley of Griffithsville; three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Tabor and Mrs. Bessie Stowers, both of Hager, WV, and Mrs. Leva Honaker of Midkiff; 41 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Hurricane, conducted by Elder Harvey Bird. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
