Arvel Coleman "Bud" Allen, 79, of Clarkesville, died Saturday, August 24, 2002, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce, following an extended illness.

Born in White County on February 17, 1923, Mr. Allen was the son of the late Arvel West and Nell Power Allen.

He was retired from North Georgia Technical School as cafeteria supervisor and was owner of Allen's Antiques for 27 years. Mr. Allen was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of Amy's Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Herbert Allen, and a sister, Jean Nation.

Burial was in the Fairfield Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Helen Dixon Allen, Clarkesville.
