GARDNER, EDWARD R., JR. (SONNY) (HUBBY) - age 55 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Parkwest Hospital.

Sonny was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church in Lenoir City. A heavy equipment operator for T. V. A. at the Kingston Steam Plant and Bull Run. Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Preceded in death by his father, Edward Gardner Sr. and sister, Sandra Duggan.

Survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie Finch Gardner; son, Edward Raymond (Ray) Gardner, III and wife Kendra; daughter, Lisa Nicole Gardner; grandchildren, Alyson, Bryson and Colton; mother, H. Juanita Gardner; brother and sisters: Linda and husband, Bobby Hanson, Wanda and husband, Rev. Taylor Adams, Patricia and husband, Rev. David Latham, Richard Gardner, Melissa and husband, John (Buster) Cook, Kimberly and husband, Robbie Gray; brother-in-law, Joe Duggan; mother-in-law, Chloe Naomi Finch; father-in-law, Jerry D. Finch; sister-in-law, Carla Finch; brothers-in-law, Jerry Finch and wife, Sandi and Tommy Finch; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kingston Pike Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Ronny Jones, Rev. David Latham and Rev. Taylor Adams officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. Friday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 1 p.m. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co.
