Paul L. "Wig" Bigelow, 79, of 11225 Furnace Road, Blue Ridge Summit, PA, entered into eternal rest at 1:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill, PA.
Born June 17, 1930 in Edgemont, MD, he was the son of the late Paul C. and Gladys May (Miller) Bigelow. He spent most of his life in the Waynesboro and Blue Ridge Summit areas where he attended Monterey School.
Mr. Bigelow served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He and his wife of over 44 years, Mrs. Florence K. "Peg" (Bonner) Walter Bigelow, were married October 2, 1965 in Smithsburg, MD. They had lived at their present residence since August 1988.
Mr. Bigelow was employed as a plumber for Ken Ray Plumbing, Waynesboro, for 30 years. He also worked for Hess Plumbing, Waynesboro, for several years, Kott Camp Construction and J.L. Craft Plumbing and Heating. He retired in 1995.
He was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy, PA, William Max McLaughlin VFW Post #695, Waynesboro, Am Vets Post #172, Fairfield, PA and Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Association.
Mr. Bigelow enjoyed hunting, gardening and reading.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Connie A. Ely and Melody A. Walter, both of Waynesboro, Harold E. Walter of Hagerstown, MD, Darious L. Walter, Dennis E. (wife Tammy) Walter, Penny J. (husband Eric) Eyler and William P. (wife Heather) Bigelow, all of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis H. (wife Nancy) Bigelow of Mercersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with the Revs. Ruth A. and Harold Hollister officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy.
