Services for Cecil Wade Hanie, 75, of 1548 Royer Street will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Merle Hay Funeral Home, with entombment in the Merle Hay Mausoleum. Mr. Hanie died of a heart attack Monday at the New Oaks Care Center, 3806 Easton Blvd. He had been ill six months.
Born in McGirk, Mo., Mr. Hanie lived in Des Moines 43 years. He was a retired lineman for the Des Moines Transit Co., and was a member of the Electrical Workers Union Local #55 and the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Veta (McLain); two sons, Kenneth J. of Des Moines and Cecil Jr. of Denver, CO; a daughter Doris Zook of Des Moines; two sisters, Opal Dingman and Annie, both of Denver; a brother A. W. Hanie of Kansas City, KS, and 13 grandchildren.
