Born in McGirk, Mo., Mr. Hanie lived in Des Moines 43 years. He was a retired lineman for the Des Moines Transit Co., and was a member of the Electrical Workers Union Local #55 and the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Veta (McLain); two sons, Kenneth J. of Des Moines and Cecil Jr. of Denver, CO; a daughter Doris Zook of Des Moines; two sisters, Opal Dingman and Annie, both of Denver; a brother A. W. Hanie of Kansas City, KS, and 13 grandchildren.
