David Vance was born in Carter County TN. His parents were Samuel Vance of Unicoi County, TN and Eliza Jane Campbell. He married Gracie Mea Brown in April 1944 in Carter County, TN. David was a PVT in the US Army.

Obituary Notice:
David Vance, 67, Rt. 1 Unicoi, died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Johnson City' TN.
A native of Unicoi, he was an Army veteran of WWII and attended the Unicoi Church of God. He was the son of the late Sam and Jan Campbell Vance.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae Brown Vance of the home; four sons, James Cecil Vance and Danny David Vance of Unicoi, and Ronnie and Bobby Gene Vance of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Terry (Linda) Taylor of Elizabethton; Mrs. Brice (Pearl) Cable of Hampton; and Rita Vance of the home; three brothers, Willie and Earl Vance of Johnson City, and Howard Vance of Unicoi; five sisters, Mrs, Ethel Gouge, Unicoi; Mrs. Pearl Ledford and Mrs. Elsie Marshall of Johnson City; and Mrs. Frankie Richardson, Elizabethton; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Woodall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Funeral services for David Vance will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Unicoi Church of God with Reverend Eugene Penland officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Paul Vance, Dale Vance, Danny Jones, Earl Jones, Art Powers, and Clifford Bowers. The body will remain in the Funeral Home Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The body will be removed to the church one hour before services. Woodall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
