Obituary for Emeline Anderson Barnett:
Mrs Emeline Anderson Barnett was born June 16, 1830, departed this life Dec 23, 1912 of acute lobar pneumonia, at the advanced age of 82 years 6 months and 7 days.

The funeral services were conducted by Benjamin Franklin Taylor at the old Blue River Church of Christ on Dec 24. After funeral services the remains were laid to rest in the nearby cemetery alongside her husband. She was the oldest daughter of Linza and Zelpha Anderson, was born, reared and lived in this county all her life. On Oct 28, 1847 she became the wife of Daniel B Barnett and lived a happy and true married life to the number of 61 years until five years ago, on Jan 4, 1908 when the dear husband and father was called to depart this life.

To this union were born eight children of whom three, Lemon H, Daniel F, and an infant daughter preceded the parents to the grave. Those living are George W, James W, Harriett Z, Mary J, Ida M, and a nephew, Arthur H Weller, a sister's son whom she took at the age of six years and being a true mother to him as to one of her own children. Besides her children to mourn their loss, she leaves eight grandchildren, of whom one Mrs Anna Sanders could be with her and care for her as one of her own daughters. Six great-grandchildren, two brothers, George W Anderson of Seattle, Washington, James W Anderson of South Boston, two sisters, Mrs Jane Martin of Bloomington, and Mrs Elizabeth Armstrong of Springfield, IL, besides a host of relatives and friends.

She united with the Church of Christ in her early days and ever lived a devoted Christian and always ready to lend a helping hand in the time of need.
