Myles Frank Fitzsimonds, 73, Lead, died May 16, 1970, in Lead, SD. He was born June 5, 1896, at Hill City, to William A. and Irene M. (Cronen) Fitzsimonds. He attended schools and ranched in that area before moving to Lead and Trojan.
He entered Homestate Mining employment in 1932 in its timber department and transferred in the mines department in 1933. He retired on June 30, 1961.
He married Dolores Howey of Hill City, September 3, 1963, at Coeur d'Alene, ID.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter and son by a previous marriage, Mrs. Esther Schlaht, Post Falls, ID, and Leo of Metaline Falls, WA; a half-sister, Lolamaud Mitchell, Hamilton, MT; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services for Myles will be Wednesday at the McColley Funeral Home Chapel, Lead, with the Rev. John DeVries of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Hill City Cemetery.
