Gillis David Brison Sr., 71, of Rural Valley, Cowanshannock Township, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at his residence. A son of Edward and Luella Wiles Brison, he was born Jan. 14, 1930 in Pine Township.

Mr. Brison was employed as a foreman with Aspin Tree Service. He was a member of the Sagamore Gospel Center and the Sagamore VFW.

Surviving are his wife Clara Moorehead Brison, whom he married Nov. 10, 1958; three sons: Homer O., Sagamore; Clifton A., Pittsburgh; and Gillis D. Jr., Sagamore; one daughter, Connie McDonlad of Rural Valley; six brothers: Thomas, St. Paris, Ohio; James, Melvin and William, all of Templeton; Finney of Rural Valley; and Merrion Myers of Kittanning; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and a grandson, John E. Cogley Jr in 1978.

Friends will be received at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Arthur Lockhard officiating. Interment will be in Tidal Cemetery, Madison Township.
