WOODWARD –Harley Maurice (Bus) Campbell, 83, the son of Harley Ray and Delilah Elizabeth (Husted) Campbell, was born December 17, 1911 in Harper County. Campbell died Saturday, January 7, 1995 in the Woodward Hospital and Health Center, Woodward.
H.M. (Bus) was raised in the Gyp Valley Community and attended the Gyp Valley and Buffalo Schools. He married Dorothy Fae Lyon December 26, 1936. To this union four children were born. In 1957 they established their home in Laverne.
Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Fae; one son, Billie; one granddaughter, Amber Dawn Kinney; one grandson, Joe David Goodwin and one great-grandson, Trevor Lynn Campbell, his parents; three sisters, Hazel, Eula and a baby girl; and one brother, James Wyatt.
Campbell is survived by: one son, Earnest Campbell of Guymon, two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Gloria) Jenkins, Campo, Colo., Mrs. Thad (Gail) Kinney, Laverne; one step-daughter, Mrs. K.J. (Doris) Goodwin of Decatur, Texas; four sisters, Mildred Wills of Monroe, Wash., Blanche Demoss and Ila Austin both of Laverne, Gladys Tidwell, Comanche; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 10, at 2 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church, Laverne, with the Rev. Wesley Peterman, Pastor, officiating.
Interment was held in the Gyp Valley Cemetery under direction of the Seeger Funeral Home, Laverne.
Memorials may be made to the Mike Hamblin Heart Transplant Fund or to the Laverne Ambulance Fund.
