Death.
William Burke, aged 83, a widower, a Gentleman, died on 15 December 1877 at Phoenix Park, Dublin.
The cause of death was Paralysis, 6 months, certified.
His death was registered on 2 January 1878 by M. Alice Burke, present at death, Under Secretary's Lodge, Phoenix Park, Dublin.

Letters of Administration of the personal estate of William Burke late of Knocknagar, County Galway, Esquire, a Widower, deceased, who died 13 December 1877 at the Under Secretary's Lodge, Phoenix Park, County Dublin, were granted at the Principal Registry to Thomas Henry Burke of The Castle, Dublin, Under Secretary for Ireland, the son of said deceased.
Effects: under £2,000.

The estate of his son Thomas Henry Burke, Under Secretary for Ireland, who was assassinated in the Phoenix Park on 6 May 1882 was valued at £1,901. 11s. 4d.

William and Thomas are the only persons buried in this double plot.
