Death removed one of Griswold's oldest residents Sunday morning in the passing of Mrs. Lillian Reynolds of this city.
Mrs. Reynolds has been critically ill the past many weeks, prior to which she had declined in health for more than a year. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. V. D. Foy, with whom Mrs. Reynolds has lived many years.
Mrs. Lillian Luccock Reynolds was born in Lexington, Illinois, June 19, 1862, and passed away at her home in Griswold, Iowa, on March 22, 1953, at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 3 days, after being bedfast for 10 months.
She was the daughter of Thomas E. and Rachel Luccock. The mother preceded her in death in 1874. She and her father moved to Atlantic, Iowa, the following year. In 1880 they moved to Griswold and were among the early settlers of this community.
She was united in marriage to William H. Reynolds in 1885. To this union were born three daughters and one son. The eldest daughter, Nellie passed away when a small child. Others are: Everett Reynolds of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Virgil Foy, with whom she lived for a number of years, and Mrs. Forest Binnall of Eureka Springs, Ark., as well as seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, survive her.
When the Methodist church was first founded in Griswold, she was a charter member and active in the various departments, with continued attendance as long as her health permitted.

The music was by Boyd Carlton, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. H. P. Carlton. Serving as casket bearers were: John Dickey, Vern Bierbaum, George McConnelee, Russell Pont, Fred B. DeWitt and Paul Denham. Interment was made on the family lot in the Griswold cemetery.
