Mrs. Carder was born in Leon and had lived in Des Moines before moving to Van Cleve 16 years ago. She was a homemaker and enjoyed birds and flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Gale; two daughters, Connie Jones of Van Cleve and Galene Phillips of Hartford; two sons, Gale Jr. of Des Moines and Edison of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Virginia Berry of Des Moines and Kay Garcia of West Des Moines; four brothers, Paul Baker and Dave Baker, both of Des Moines, and Bob Baker and Don Baker, both of West Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
