Rev. Harry V. Melley studied in Innsbruck, Austria for the Diocese of Buffalo and was ordained on March 29, 1936. His first assignment was at St. John the Evangelist as assistant pastor. Later he was assigned assistant in other parishes, then named pastor at Our Lady of Peace in Clarence and Our Lady of Lourdes in Buffalo. Finally, he was returned to St. John the Evangelist as pastor, where he served the remainder of his life.
