Enos Adams Succumbs

Funeral services for Enos Adams of Neligh were held Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Neligh.

The Rev. Richard Odgers officiated at the services with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert E. Adams, Barry Marsh, David Decker, Mark Verplank, Tedd Adams and Steven Adams.

Enos Adams, son of William and Jane Adams, was born in Huggins, Missouri on May 1, 1895 and died Wednesday, January 9 at Keahaven Nursing Home in Neligh at the age of 84 year, 9 months and 9 days.

He came to Nebraska in a covered wagon with his parents in 1898, settling in the Tilden area and later moved to Oakdale were he received his schooling.

In 1916 he was united in marriage to Murl Beer.

They farmed in the Oakdale vicinity until 1933 when they moved to a farm east of Neligh. In 1952 they retired to a home in Neligh.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin of Sidney, Robert and Gerald of neligh; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Ruth) Marsh of Nelight; four brothers, Lawrence, John and Clifford of Los Angeles California, and Victor of Billingham, Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in February, 1978, one son, Gene; two brothers; and one sister.
