Donald J. Agamaite, 69, Sobieski, formerly of Dyckesville, died peacefully at his home, early Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 12, 1940, in Dyckesville to the late Felix C. and Gladys C. (Paque) Agamaite.

On Oct. 3, 1959, he married Jean M. Vandervest at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1972.

He was a proud member of Carpenters Local Union 1146 for almost 40 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shaking dice, playing cards and canning. He was an avid Brett Favre and Packers fan. Don was well known for his practical jokes and ability to make people laugh. His family was most precious to Don.

Survivors include his children, Kay (Larry) Roskom, Green Bay; Scott (Brenda) Agamaite, Casco; Renae (Jim Kinnard), Casco; Chad (Jessica) Agamaite, Ripon; Keith (Jenny) Agamaite, Pulaski; 14 grandchildren with another arriving soon, Stephanie (Corey) Everts, Jennifer (Dan) Roskom-Pamperin, Abigail (Doug Darby) Roskom, Mathew (Jessica Derenne) Agamaite, Morgan and Mariah Agamaite, Chelsea, Mackenzie and Bryce Ronsman, Kai, Cale Agamaite (and baby on the way), Colton, Peighton and Calleigh Agamaite; one great-grandchild with one on the way, Kaydence Everts, and baby Pamperin on the way; one brother and three sisters-in-law, James (Linda) Agamaite, Goodman; LaVonne Agamaite, Luxemburg; Evelyn Agamaite, Dyckesville; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Yvonne Pennings, New Franken; Sandy (Laurel) Joniaux, Luxemburg; Martin (Sue) Konop, Arthur (Lucy) Alexander, all of Green Bay; and his former spouse Patricia Simons, Krakow.

Don was preceded in death by Lorna Agamaite; two brothers, Felix Agamaite Jr., Garland Agamaite; three sisters and one brother-in- law, Gloria Alexander, Diane Konop, his twin sister, Donna and John "Jack" Pennings.

Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. Parish prayer service 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Gary Pennings officiating. Burial in St. Louis Cemetery, Dyckesville.
