Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 13 and from 8 am. until noon on Friday, Jan. 14, both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 at the Greeley Wesleyan Church. There was cremation.
Mr. Niemann was born Nov., 16, 1956 in Ann Arbor, Mich. to Robert and Mary Jane (Brender) Niemann.
He graduated from Sterling High School in 1974.
On June 17, 1979 he married Alicia Kaestner in Sterling.
He received a bachelor of science degree in sports and recreation from University Northern Colorado in 1979 and in 1991 received a master's degree in social education from UNC. He w for the YMCA in Northglenn and Riverview, Mich., and received teacher's certificate from Wayne State University in Detroit. He began teaching at North Valley Middle School in La Salle in 1988.
He was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes,
Peter R.Crusade for Christ, and the Greeley Wesleyan Church. He was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Niemann is survived by his wife Alicia Niemann of Greeley; his two daughters, Aimee Niemann, 9, and Ericka Niemann, 6, both of Greeley; his parents, Robert and Mary Jane Niemann of Greeley; one brother, Eric Niemann and wife Marta of Greeley; one sister Nancy Palmquist and husband Steve of Jeffersonville, Ind.; his parents-in-law: Harold and Alice Kaestner of Sterling; four sisters-in-law, Marsha Schuppe and husband Dave of Sterling, Annette Unrein and husband Al of St. George, Utah, Roxie Ramirez and husband Ray of Crook, and Pam Christiansen and husband Bob of Salida; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-n.
