PAW PRINTS ALL OVER OUR HEARTS

When most people think of a Pit Bull they picture a vicious dog. GaToR changed the perspective many who met him had about Pit Bull Terriers. He was extremely gentle and very friendly. GaToR's father was RedBone GRAHAM and his mother was Patches WEATHERSBY-GRAHAM. There were 10 puppies born to that litter and sadly they were the last of RedBone's line; he passed away before the puppies were born. GaToR was born Memorial Day weekend and the family had gone on a camping trip that holiday weekend and upon their return they discovered Patches had given birth. GaToR was the first Pit Bull we ever owned and with their reputation I must say I was a little worried about having him around my children so the kids were never allowed around him without adult supervision. As time went by we would discover that GaToR loved everyone. He had a very unique personality and was the most loving and gentle dog many had ever known. He loved everything all dogs love with a couple extras like FIREWORKS and LIGHTNING. We had to be extremely careful because GaToR would run to pick up the fireworks right after you lit the fuse. He didn't care if the pack of firecrackers were still popping or not and if we hadn't held him back he would have gotten his tongue blown off and possibly lost his eye sight. Since we just happen to live in the lightning capital of the world, GaToR adjusted to the weather quickly; he'd get on the trampoline during a thunderstorm and try to jump high enough to catch a lightning bolt and acted as if someone was throwing frisbees at him. GaToR was truly FEARLESS as you can see in the photo where he's being chased by the horse; GaToR was just having a good ole time with the horses and cows. We learned dogs that have NO fear have no reason to bite unless it is to protect their family and we could NOT have had a better guard dog. He also loved going swimming at lakes, ponds, and reservoirs; even in a mudd puddle in our backyard. He would dig and dig in the mudd hole and bark and empty any sticks out of the mudd puddle. In his short life, he grew in the hearts of many. He was a loyal friend and trusted protector. Although we miss him dearly, we find comfort in knowing we'll see him again. We know the identity of his killer and we know it was to hurt us not because the THUG had anything personal against GaToR. Our hearts will never mend and some say, "Well it was just a dog." No, he was a member of our family; he was so much more than just a dog. There are animal lovers and there are people that could care less about animals. When a pet comes into our home they become a part of our FAMILY - GaToR will always be a part of our family - his killer can NEVER remove all the paw prints GaToR left on our hearts or our countless memories - those BELONG to US FOREVER; one day GaToR's killer will face God and that day we will ALL get JUSTICE. It brings me some measure of peace knowing God was watching.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF GaToR

If we could have a lifetime wish
A dream that would come true
We'd pray to God with all our hearts
For yesterday and you
A thousand words can't bring you back
We know because we've tried
And neither will a million tears
We know because we've cried
You left behind our broken hearts
And happy memories too
We never wanted memories
WE ONLY WANTED YOU!!!!
