OBITUARY OF TED JONES

Ted Jones, the son of Henry and Anna Siegrest Jones, died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa, on April 20, 1985,at the age of 90 years, 3 months, and 29 days.

He attended Guthrie Center schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church in Guthrie Center. he moved to Montana as a young man to do ranching. During World War I, he served with the U.S. Army in France.

On December 27, 1916, he married Margaret Mae Lemmon at Roundup, Montana. They lived in Montana until 1930 when they moved to their farm near Audubon, Iowa. They moved to their present home in Audubon in 1966. After her death on January 28, 1968, he continued to make his home with his son, Floyd, until his death. He was a member of the American Legion and the World War I Barracks.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife, were his parents; one daughter, Doris Bonnalyn Jones, 3 stillborn grandchildren, 1 great-grand daughter; and his brothers and sisters: James Marion, Fred and Elmer Jones, Nettie Jones, Mae Lane, and Byrd Stallknecht.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Floyd L. Jones of Audubon, Iowa; Bernice M. and Duane Barratt of Irwin, Iowa; Boyd T. and Ina Jones of Pendleton, Oregon; Fauntella and Don Rutherford of Elgin, Oregon; Audrey B. and Leo Jensen of Audubon; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
