Daughter of Bertha Beatrice (Coleman) and Earl Elsworth Kempton.
When Geri was 16 months old her mother passed away following surgery. Bertha Kempton was 25 years old. Immediately following her mother's death she was cared for by the Coleman family and by her grandmother, Mary Lucy Kempton. At the age of 4, when her father remarried, she made her home with him and his family during the school years and continued to spend the summer months with other relatives.

On December 14, 1940 she was united in marriage with CM "Carol" Felton at Salina, Kansas. They continued to live at Salina where they raised their five daughters. In 1989, they moved to the Guide Rock community to make their home. In January of 2009, both Geri and Carol moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Superior.

They were blessed with 68 years of loving marriage and dedication to one another. She always embraced her role as a homemaker and faithfully raised her five daughters through her guiding principles and she always lead by example. Geri possessed a strong Christian faith and prayed for everyone on a daily basis. She enjoyed her neighborhood ladies and families, as they all supported and cared for each other. She was a member of the Guide Rock Baptist Church and the Baptist Women.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carol on November 22, 2009; her step-mother; a grandson, John and a great-great grandson, Trenton.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Siart and husband Bob of Grafton, Massachusetts; Sharon Christensen and husband Bob of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Linda Arrants and husband Lonnie of Guide Rock, Nebraska; Ruth Smith and husband Nelson of Carthage, Missouri, and Becky Gay and husband Mike of Guide Rock; 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Waddle of Hamilton, Missouri and Rosemary Miller and husband John of South Haven, Mississippi; brothers, Earl Dean Kempton and wife Dorothy of Salina, Kansas, and Keith Kempton and wife Carol of Salina; a sister-in-law, Betty Felton of Salina; other relatives and friends.
