came to the village fro Pa some 20 years ago then to New Centerville, Somerset then River Falls for 7 years.

leaves for Minnesota in May 1875, comes back. came to Wisconsin 1855, New Centerville and Somerset, moved to River Falls in about 1868
It is reported that a sneak thief played upon John McKean to the extent of several dollars. The operator had been indulging in some of McKean's soothing decoration and pretended to be thoroughly and honestly drunk. and was stowed away in the back room while the bartender went to supper. When he returned he found nothing An open back door explained the matters at once. The thief has not been found- November 12, 1874
