Andrew Jackson Ellis was at Appomattox and surrendered with Lee's army. He had enlisted in 1863. Discharged April 09, 1865 when paroled by the U. S. Army.
He is listed on page 95, right column of "The Appomattox Paroles April 9-15, 1865," authored by William G. Nine and Robert G. Wilson. ISBN-0-930919-69-6. These are the men who were at Appomattox and surrendered with Lee.
Andrew and Susan were married on Dec. 17, 1866 and had 6 children:

Gravesite Details
Andrew Jackson's grave was dug up at an unknown time by grave robbers hoping that he had been buried with money or other valuables. The land owner filled the grave back in upon discovery.
