OBITUARY
Edgar Downs
Bellevue - Edgar Downs, 79, north West Street, died Wednesday evening in Biebricher House. He had been in failing health for the past years. He was born October 29, 1892 in Bellevue and was the son of Harry and Mary (Devore) Downs.
Mr. Downs was employed for three years as a bookkeeper for Hind and Dauch Co., Sandusky, then joined his father in the Downs Jewelry Store, Bellevue where he was employed for 42 years as a jeweler, retiring in 1958.
On June 21, 1922 Mr. Downs married Helena Weaver and she survives at 323 North West Street in Bellevue. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack W. Marilyn) Stephens, Delray Beach, Fla.; and Mrs. Deanna Stephens, Bellevue; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Downs was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a life member of the Elks Lodge 1013.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home.
