Billy F. Pettry, Sr, 55, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at his home at Branham Heights after an extended illness.
Born May 2, 1947, at Beckley, he was the son of the late Oatis and Dilly (Canterbury) Pettry.
Mr. Pettry was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Cantley.
Mr. Pettry is survived by his wife, Kathyern (White) Pttry; three daughters, Chera Cantley of Naomi, Julie Walker of Slyvester and Dilly Aliff of Whitesville; a son, Bily F. Pettry Jr. of Sylvester; two sisters, Edna Browning of Ohio and Faye Pettry of Beckley; six brothers, Pauline Pettry of Whitesville, Carlos and James Pettry, both of Pettry Bottom, Arley Pettry of Dry Creek, and Jessie Bearfield and Eugene Pettry, both of Ohio; two half sisters, Joann Hodge of Texas and Janet Akers of Ohio;
and nine grandchildren,

Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Armstrong Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesville, with the Rev. David Cook officiating. The Stewart Family will sing. Burial will follow in Adkins Cemetery, Naoma.
