ALFRED KNOWLES
Alfred S. Knowles, 79, of East Walts Avenue, a correctional officer for Volusia County, died Saturday at home.

Mr. Knowles, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Glencoe Springs and was a native and lifelong resident of this area. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include a son, Earl B., Panama City; six daughters, Mary Isaac, Linda Knowles, and Sue Wells, all of Panama City, Freda Willis, Mobile, Ala., Joy Buffo, Lake County, and Janet Sloan, DeLand; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and friend, Myrtis Reynolds, DeLand, who provided for his care. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.
