George W. Marshall, Jr., 59, 345 Blossom Hill Drive, president of K-D Manufacturing Co., died unexpectedly at his home at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 14, 1964. Husband of Elizabeth (Weber) Marshall, he was born in Dayton, OH, a son of the late George W. and Belle M. (Minser) Marshall. Following his graduation from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, in 1928, he joined the sales staff of US Raybestos-Manhattan, Inc. at Manheim. He was named vice president at Raybestos-Manhattan in 1951 and remained in that post in charge of sales until 1956. In 1957, he purchased the K-D Manufacturing Co. makers of automotive tool devices and metal stamp products. Marshall was a charter member of the board of directors of the Boys Club of Lancaster and was among eight founders of the club honored in 1960. He was also a member of the board of directors of St. Joseph Hospital. In 1960, he was named chairman of the local Employ the Physically Handicapped Company. A year later, he was among a dozen Lancaster Countains named for the first time in the World Who's Who in Commerce and Industry. Active in community affairs, he served in various offical posts with the Welfare Federation of Lancaster County, the forerunner of the present United Fund Campaign. In 1954, he served as chairman and toastmaster of the testimonial given to Dr. Theodore A. Distler, when he resigned as president of F&M College. He was a member of the Hamilton Club, Lancaster Country Club, Detroit, MI Athletic Club, University Club, Washington D.C. and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was a member of St. John's Episcopla Church. He was also a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity, Amherst College, MA. In addition to his wife, at home, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia M., wife of C. Paul Myers, Lancaster and four grandchildren. The funeral will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church Tuesday, March 17, 1964 at 1:30 pm. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Lancaster Sunday News 3/15/1964
