Elizabeth Rebecca Anders nee Goodman was born 2-22-1848 was married to Joseph M. Anders Jan. 26, 1868 and died April 12, 1929. Joseph M. Anders was born April 1, 1845 and died June 1, 1929. They both joined the Baptist Church at old Shady Grove at Jersey, Ark., the latter part of July 1872 near where they were both born and had lived all their lives.

They are survived by five sons and three daughters as follows: John R. Anders, school teacher at Malvern, Ark., Marion Jasper Anders of Eudora, Ark. Both of the above are graduates of Ouachita College at Arkadelphia; Jarill Anders of Jersey, Ark.; Stephen B. Anders of Warren and Frank Anders of Mississippi Co., Ark. The daughters are Mrs. John Hines of Warren, Ark.; Mrs. Harvey Rowland of Warren, Ark.; and Mrs. J. P. Johnson of Jersey, Ark. where they both had made their home since the fall of 1868.

They died on the old homestead and were buried side by side at Shady Grove Cemetery. Bro. Anders is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. P. Cooper of El Dorado, Okla. Sister Anders has one brother, Jesse Goodman of DeQueen, one half-brother, J. P. Cooper of El Dorado, Okla.; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their departure. But dear loved ones, don't grieve for they have gained their portals of Heaven.

They were both very devoted to each other and to their church and community. They fought a good fight and were devoted Christians for nearly 57 years. All their children are Christians and church workers.
