Mary was the daughter of Addison and Lottie Williams Tinsley. By todays terms, Mary was handicapped. She was raised by her Grandmother Mattie Williams Reed until 1937 when Mattie died. She was brought to live with us at that time. It was a shame she was not taught things she could understand and do.

Over the years my Mom taught Mary to do things she had not done before. My Mom would brush and fix her hair and at times add a touch of make-up.

Mama took Mary out to the porch and they would set in the swing She taught her to recognize different people passing down the street. After a little while Mary could tell her who they were.

She loved coffee. She called both my brother and me Jennya. I can still hear her say, "Jennya, I want coffee". She had natural curley hair. Loved Dolls and rings, jewelry in general.
