Phyllis Fluth, 79, Emery, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Freeman Medical Center, Freeman, SD.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Emery and at 3:00 pm Tuesday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George, IA. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Monday at the Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel, Emery.

She was born January 12, 1928 at White, SD to Philip and Luella (Boekholder) Winkowitsch. As a young child she moved with her family to George, IA, where she attended country school and graduated from George High School. While in high school she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She attended Westmar College for two years in LeMars, IA. Following college she taught first grade for three years. On June 5, 1950 she married Stanley Morris Ontjes. They resided in Sheldon, IA until 1957, then moved to Bridgewater, SD. In 1967 they moved to Boyden, IA. Stanley died February 19, 1971. In 1980 Phyllis moved to George, IA. She married Don Fluth on November 30, 1991 and they moved to Emery, SD in the spring of 1992.

She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George and was actively involved in various women's organizations.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don of Emery; 3 daughters, Gayle (Lyle) Moret of Littleton, CO; Roberta (Thomas) Reuvers of Boyden, IA; Rebecca (Richard) Click of Lone Tree, CO; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step-sons, Delmond (Denise) Fluth of Chamberlain, SD; Bradley (Cheryl) Fluth of Emery, SD; 5 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Kenneth (Kathryn) Winkowitsch of Sibley, IA; 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Winkowitsch of Ashton, IA; Dora Jean Winkowitsch of George, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Stanley Ontjes, a grandchild, Amanda Moret and 3 brothers, Dale, William and Edlyn.
