She often said, that of the dead
only good should be spoken...
So here we write so you may read
of her good deeds a token.

She was the mother, proud to be
of children, six, all told
whose talents, lives, and attributes
she loved to realate and extol.

For they were her crown jewels,
her choice posterity,
and they remain to carry her name
down in earth's mortal memory

She's a mother, a proud grandmother,
a great soul in her rest
and may the Savior greet her
and aid her in her eternal quest

(Ammon)"Grandmother, come walk with me today."
I cannot for I'm in this chair to stay
But if you cannot walk with me
Then hop with me, I pray!

She laughed and loved the little boy
she cherished these children so
and he remembers Grandma's pat
which she with love bestowed.

Daughter Mary sweetest charmer
the dolly of her youth
she loved to dress and play with her
and brought her up in truth

Augustus, baby, firstborn son
so pure he could not stay
a white dove sang a heavenly song
and bore his soul away.

Frances dear her loyal help
was always there to tend her needs
her mother loved her tenderly
for she gave her mother special heed

Joseph came and filled the wound
like the favored son of many hues
she loved to watch his talents grow
her faith in him bore fruit she knew

Lovenia came as a flower in her prime
with love and sunshine rare
her mother's heart was glad again
her cup of happiness she shared

And Carol, her joy and song at last
with voice so sweet and clear
she loved to dress her little one up
and hold her ever near.

And when her family grew and left
she did not pine away
she looked around for those in need
and gave full service day by day

She took them clothes and bread and fruit
whatever she had to spare
with her material goods she shared
and showed the world she really cared

The bread cast out returned manyfold
from friends who loved her far and near
her Christian charity sweetened life
for the many whose souls she held so dear

She improved herself, her lifelong dream
she learned to drive and get around
always neat and tidy and clean
even as age her gray head crowned

She loved her father, mother, sisters,
brothers, cousins, aunts and nieces
Her family ties she honored well
she knit family stories from bits and pieces

And told these faith promoting stories to all
whenever they came to call
and reminisced about past glories
to inspire the children one and all

Her life was one of service
and sacrifice was in her deeds
She left behind her gifts of love
wrapped in a royal heritage

Now we honor her this day
as she has entered immortality
and left behind her mortal clay
to rest in mother Earth's security

She now greets her loved ones there
and holds them close in loving clasp
Never again to part her goal
from dear ones' mutual linking grasp.
