Services for Gladys Bentz, 82, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at Mount Olive Lutheran in Norfolk. The Revs. Frank Brink and Glen Gutz will officiate with burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Home for Funerals in Norfolk. She died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton. The daughter of Fred and Augusta (Hasenkamp) Kirch was born July 3, 1921, in Pierce. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran in Pierce. She graduated from Pierce High School in 1939 and attended Norfolk Junior College. She married Robert Bentz on June 23, 1946, at Mount Olive Lutheran. She worked as a legal secretary at Webb Rice for two years and then as a private secretary for General Wholesale for 10 years. She later worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads for 35 years until retiring in 1986. She and her husband owned an antique store for many years. They also taught ballroom dancing classes for many years. Mrs. Bentz was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
